This may be a short and simple book。 It seems to have a decent framework。And, it seems that one could become more decent with people if one were to do this friendly work。However, I wonder if some of the advice might tend to invite insincere behavior。For example, after following an explanation of how smiling can set the mood when meeting someone, this section ends with the suggestion to do as professional actors do: say "Cheese。" Actually, I find what works better for me is to really find how I a This may be a short and simple book。 It seems to have a decent framework。And, it seems that one could become more decent with people if one were to do this friendly work。However, I wonder if some of the advice might tend to invite insincere behavior。For example, after following an explanation of how smiling can set the mood when meeting someone, this section ends with the suggestion to do as professional actors do: say "Cheese。" Actually, I find what works better for me is to really find how I am grateful for what is great about people。 Specifically, this person in front of me: What do I like about this person? And, by looking for things to be grateful for more often, smiles are easier to come。 (I share this as one who didn't use to do this and who didn't go in for this。 Something shifted and I tried it。 Sincere smiles, while loving folks, and even making jokes。。。 can do something that doesn't rhyme with folks。 Seriously, though, sincerity shows。) 。。。more

Easy readThis book was an easy read and it gives great information on how to speak to people。 It also identifies the reasons people respond in certain ways during conversation。 It's a great starter book for learning to communicate with people and one you can review from time to time。 Easy readThis book was an easy read and it gives great information on how to speak to people。 It also identifies the reasons people respond in certain ways during conversation。 It's a great starter book for learning to communicate with people and one you can review from time to time。 。。。more

Knowledge itself is of no value。 It is THE USE OF KNOWLEDGE that makes it valuable。 Putting this thought another way - life does not pay off for you on what you can do。 Life pays off for you on what you do。Quite a quick read striving for the presentation of some ideas equipping one with the required skills to get along (read manipulate) with people! Almost all of them seem intuitive and obvious。 I would recommend it to teens!

Simple and quick, this is probably the shortest self-development book I've ever read。 Most are practical, but some are conditional so it's not going to always work。 Good read tho Simple and quick, this is probably the shortest self-development book I've ever read。 Most are practical, but some are conditional so it's not going to always work。 Good read tho 。。。more

Probably the shortest book I've ever read, finished it in less than an hour!I read it immediately after "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and I can say that most of the information was already known to me。 It was presented in a much shorter way though。I didn't learn much from this book, but only because I've already learned a lot from other sources。It's definitely a good place to start for someone interested in social skills。 You can give it a try before attempting to read bulkier books Probably the shortest book I've ever read, finished it in less than an hour!I read it immediately after "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and I can say that most of the information was already known to me。 It was presented in a much shorter way though。I didn't learn much from this book, but only because I've already learned a lot from other sources。It's definitely a good place to start for someone interested in social skills。 You can give it a try before attempting to read bulkier books on the topic。 。。。more
